Anya Zova is a stand-up comedian, actress, and producer whose work blends sharp comedy with emotionally driven storytelling across stage and screen.
Born in Russia to a Ukrainian mother and Russian father, Anya was first a Kickboxing World Champion before earning her law degree at the age of 20 and moving to the United States to pursue entertainment. That unconventional path continues to shape both her comedic voice and the projects she creates today.
After signing with WWE, Anya transitioned into acting, making her television debut on NBC’s award-winning comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine and appearing on CBS’s MacGyver. She later executive produced and starred in the TV pilot Wake Up.
As a comedian, Anya has performed internationally, including at the Netflix Is a Joke Festival (2026) and the Chris Jericho Cruise (2025), Abu Dhabi Comedy Festival (2024). She is the creator of Make Laughs Not War — a peace-driven comedy show featured as part of the New York Comedy Festival (2023) that has played iconic venues including The Comedy Store, Carolines on Broadway, Hollywood Improv, Cobb’s Comedy Club, Punch Line Philly, and La Jolla Comedy Store. She has also appeared on The Adam Carolla Show and currently co-produces Clotheslines & Punchlines, a comedy showcase featuring professional wrestlers turned comedians.
Expanding into film and documentary storytelling, Anya executive produced We Are People Too (2025, award-winning) and Angelina, filmed across nine countries and currently in post-production.
Whether through comedy, film, or live performance, Anya is drawn to projects that combine humor, tension, and emotional truth — often exploring the space between vulnerability, identity, and performance.
